Library Buys Poet’s 40000 Emails

The British Library has paid £32,000 for poet Wendy Cope‘s email archive.  A far cry from stacks of personal letters, but seemingly the natural progression of things.  According to Cope herself, many of the emails “are not interesting at all”. (via @BookBench)

was an intern for The Millions, managing social media. He is a student at The New School, Eugene Lang College, and lives in the East Village.

  1. This headline is misleading. The amount paid was not just for the e-mails. It was for her entire archive, which includes 15 boxes of paper manuscripts as well as emails.
