Martin Scorsese presents his picks for the eleven (?) scariest movies of all time. Apparently he stopped watching horror films around the time he directed Mean Streets

  1. Glad to see Val Lewton on MS’s list–but I’d pick “I Walked With A Zombie” over “Isle of the Dead.” Maybe even “Cat People” or “Bedlam.”

  2. Scorsese’s list balances out the hundreds of lists we get from film “fanatics” whose greatest ever lists go back to around 1995.
