Ian McEwan is going after religion in his latest novel. The Children Act will focus on the conflict of parents who refuse medical treatment for their children due to religious beliefs. You can expect the book in September.
Lit Pics
Scared of being lonely this Valentine’s Day? If you pre-order Sam Pink’s new novel, Rontel, the author will cheer you up with a personalized sexy text message. (It’s also worth mentioning that Electric Lit is publishing the novel as their first e-book.)
“A great novel is always felt as a kind of gift”
Millions contributor Brian Ted Jones read through some of Nic Pizzolatto’s written fiction – such as his novel, Galveston – and found that the author dwelled on many of the “same obsessions” as he does in his breakout HBO hit, True Detective.
All About the New
20 Under 40 alum and A Better Angel author Chris Adrian teamed up with Eli Horowitz to publish a digital novel with Atavist Books. The novel, titled The New World, employs new storytelling techniques made possible by Atavist software. It’s worth remembering here that the first book Atavist published was written by fellow 20-Under-40er Karen Russell.
On the Scroll

“The paper’s news judgment is exceedingly bizarre.”
Jonathan Chait takes a look at the (horrible) newspapers in Back to the Future, but he misses the most obvious criticism. That page layout is atrocious!
