E-Books and Paperbacks

As The New York Times reports, the rise of e-books has quickened the release of paperbacks. You used to have to wait a year for paperbacks to hit the shelves; now it’s often half that.

  1. For the starving artist reader (or college student reader…) this is a great thing – except when it doesn’t happen. “The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet’s Nest” has no paperback release date as of yet – which only aggravates me more when I see books like “Swamplandia!” already out in paperback after having only hit shelves this calendar year.

  2. Just finished the first two books. Have been frantically searching for the “hornets” release date. Found an answer on the Random House website. They say November 22, 2011. Sheesh! I think I have to buy the hardcover!
